Weekly Weigh-In: Sweat

It seems that sweatshirts have been all the rage in the blogosphere this season.  I don't have a problem with sweatshirts.

I wear these shawl-collared puppies all the time:

I recently upgraded to this one:

Dress: Madewell
Tights and Shoes: H&M (similar tights here - lol, just kidding - but really, try these or these)
Bracelets: oops.  I forgot to wear any.

A few of my faves from the blogosphere, done right:

DO NOT.  Do not do this.  Please.

The difference between a sweatshirt do and don't?  It should be more fitted than not, more clean-cut than frumpy and above all - NO CARTOON CHARACTERS.  Those are just like Christmas sweaters (you know the ones people have parties for?)

Lest you think I'm being snobbish.................BAM!!  That's me, in a hoodie.  Two words: Primitive Camping.  Some more words:  Because that's how I roll............in the dirt.
What do you think?  Are sweatshirts in, or out?

  2. I love huge sweatshirts. But I only where them when I'm inside the house or its super freezing and I could care less whether I look cute or not.
That dress and the way you styled it is super cute. Love it.

  3. I LOVE blazer sweatshirts - so structured but so cozy!

I work on a college campus and the plain sweatshirt you showed as a "Do Not" is all the rage. Girls wear them with leggings. I don't know how they make it cute, but they do. I tend to stick to those kind of sweatshirts when I am sitting at home on the couch :)

  7. Hahaha...I love your sweatshirt dos and don'ts. I always have a hard time finding sweatshirts to fit me that aren't either frumpy or too childlike. I LOVE these options and your dress.

  13. Oh my goodness, I love how you styled the sweatshirt dress! I am thinking about ordering it from Madewell with their promo right now, do you have any thoughts on sizing? I'm usually an 8-10 dress size (I have a bigger chest size) and always go with a medium, but I see that their medium is a 6/8 on the sizing chart and so I'm wondering about a large...Thanks!

  14. I bought it in a small, and usually wish I had gotten it in an extra small......could you order both and return the one that doesn't fit? Otherwise I'd go with medium!
